TOMS shoes illustrated above were from a ‘Style Your Sole’ for TOMS Shoes. It was the first event in Vancouver, and 2nd of its kind in Canada back in 2009 I put on. ‘Style Your Sole’ encouraged customers to come out and either design themselves or have an on-site artist customize their shoe.
Since then one of the artists Aurelie Grand illustrated my icon above as well as an illustration of Derek and I.
TOMS also has another event One Day Without Shoes that is coming up again April 16th. Above is a pic from last year I posted before, looking forward to making a new tee this year with the new stencils. Check it out

Such a great movie. Jana Fonda’s brother in the movie has my dream apartment. Someone really needs to make a line inspired by her wardrobe in this film.
Kyle Hilton is amazing.
My high school art teacher recently unearthed some old, primitive paper dolls of mine. I used to love making these things. They had separate guitars and you could move their arms back and forth to strum, it was so great! I wish I could say I’ve overcome that huge head problem, though…
New spring lookbook launch today that I art directed and managed. Very excited with the way the concept turned out so bright and fun. The talented Sean Lo designed these incredible illustrations and graphics! They emphasized each outfit and photo perfectly. Beautiful photos by Harry Gils, web design by Christopher. Dream styling team Jaclyn, Krista and Kerry.
I also reached out to Dine Alone Records and I’m beyond excited to feature a Kate Nash song in our behind the scenes video! I saw her 2 years ago at the Mod Club going to check her out at the Horseshoe again in March.
Want these Phoenix Dipped Booties by Freebird so bad!! They are so beautiful. I just caved and bought them…
Art by Element advocate Juliana Neufeld.
These images are beautiful and done by such talented ladies. Illustration needs to be used more in general in everything.
New jacket from Penny Arcade. Feels very Lindsay Weir from Freaks and Geeks.
Thanks to my friend Kerri for sharing this with me!
French photographer Renaud Marion has created a series of photos, where he reimagines vintage cars as futuristic floating vehicles.
In the photo series called ‘Air Drive’, Marion deliberately turned the images of old school Cadillac and Mercedes-Benz into retro-futuristic vehicles that hover in mid-air—showing us how the photographer imagined the 2000s would be like in his childhood.
Just so beautiful. I love seeing these drawings and cannot wait to see the movie and final designs. Can I just live in this era?
MIUCCIA PRADA has unveiled four sketches of her costumes for the highly-anticipated Baz Luhrmann film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, which is due to hit cinemas this summer. Prada worked with costume designer Catherine Martin to create over 40 looks for the movie, each inspired by styles from the Prada and Miu Miuarchive.
